About Me
Hello! I’m Kelsey James, owner and editor of Citrus Ink Editorial.
I have a decade of experience writing and editing in academic, technical, and public sector contexts. I have a Masters in Public Health from Simon Fraser University, and specialize with texts that fall into the realm of public health, health services, medicine, environmental science, workplace health and safety, and risk assessment. However, I can work with many other technical and academic topics as well.
I’m also an avid fiction reader and writer. I’ve provided a variety of editing services to fellow writers, from beta reading to copy editing to higher level developmental editing. I love to work with independent writers to help them bring their vision for their story to life.
I have a Certificate in Editing from Simon Fraser University, and have earned the Editing Essentials qualification from Editors Canada, the professional organization that promotes editors across the country. I’m an active member of Editors Canada and frequently take part in volunteering and continuing education opportunities.
About the name
Why Citrus Ink?
You know invisible ink? Where you write in lemon juice and then heat up your paper to see the words?
That’s the image I like to think of when describing my editing ethos—that I’m editing in invisible ink. As an editor, I aim to help you refine your writing in a way that preserves your voice and highlights your story. My edits are there when you need them, but after that… they fade away, and all that’s left is your writing, made to look its best. And with that image in mind, Citrus Ink Editorial was born.
